SSDI approval rates lowest in 5 years

According to Allsup’s analysis of data provided by the Social Security Administration (SSA), the approval rate for initial disability claims declined to 33 percent in FY 2013, down from 36 percent in FY 2008. The hearings approval rate dropped to 48 percent in FY 2013 from 63 percent in FY 2008. This comparison is based on the Workload Data Disability Appeals table provided by the SSA.
